Content Creation, Mother’s Day Prepping, and Influencer Partnerships
Repeating the mundane tasks is what leads to success.
New Instagram Reels
This week was spent mostly working on my next 30 days of content.
I had/have to make:
12 reels
8 carousels
4 blog posts
I was not able to get nearly as much as I wanted done this week, but I did learn a lot about upping my Instagram reels!
Here are some of the ways I leveled up my reels:
Focus more on the verbal/text hook + content.
Previously, I have spent more time focusing on special/visual effects than the actual content of the video. While the visual effect may hold the viewer’s attention for a second, if the actual message isn’t well thought out, they will scroll on. I started focusing more on what pain points someone looking for tallow skincare would have and trying to demonstrate why tallow would help with that.
More emphasis on the hook in general
I previously considered that if I had one or maybe 2 hooks, I was good to go. In these new videos, I tried to incorporate 3 hooks at the beginning of each video (verbal, text, and visual). I didn’t stop there, though. I worked on incorporating as many hooks in the body of the videos as I could.
Tried out new angles.
I experimented with new filming angles, like looking up or down at the camera.
Focused more on sound effects.
I had fun incorporating new sound effects into the videos. They made them seem much more professional, as well as driving the emotion of the video.
If you don’t already, follow me on Instagram so you can see the videos as they come out!
Instagram Partnership
As of this week, I got to send one of my favorite influencers, (@lilypopsartsycoffeefae), some product (😁!!), I had one more influencer agree to a partnership (with 60K followers), one more reached out to me with a counteroffer (with 80K), and a podcast whose hosts I’d sent some products to reach out for an affiliation (TBD what that will look like).
I didn’t get to reach out to any new influencers this week, so that was a down, but other than that, I’d say it went pretty well!
Mother’s Day Prepping
Mother’s Day is coming up, and my head is spinning with ideas!
I am a little nervous because I think I might turn into a work zombie as Mother’s Day approaches, but what can ya do? 🤷♀️😂
This upcoming Thursday (May 1st), I am having an ad drop with The Austin Woman magazine (80K subscribers), and have high hopes!
I have created some Mother’s Day specials (branded Mother’s Day box sets) and hope that those do well!
Another idea is to reach out to influencers and ask if they want to collaborate on a giveaway. I have yet to figure out the exact details of that, but it is a #1 priority for this upcoming week.
The last Mother’s Day thing I have to prep for is the Pecan Street Festival, an Austin music fest that attracts nearly 400,000 people each year. While it is not specifically for Mother’s Day, it is a few days before Mother’s Day, and people will (hopefully) be looking for Mother’s Day gifts.
That is all for now!
Best,
Serena
P.S. On a personal note, my sister picked out her horse today! She has been waiting for this since Thanksgiving. She is doing this as part of a program where they pull horses off the overcrowded reserves in NM and gentle/domesticate them.
So, yes, it is a wild mustang. And, no, we’ve never owned a horse before. And, yes, we are crazy, but it will be fun! 😁
