Why I Bought a $300 Worth of Glass Jars
I didn’t think that solving my jar problem would look like this.
A few months ago, I encountered a problem.
I had started my business, Arete Tallow, and my main product was a tallow moisturizer. These moisturizers came in 1oz, 2oz, and 4oz sizes. While 2oz and 4oz moisturizers were in glass jars, my 1oz was in a small metal tin.
I had a few issues with the tin.
First, the customers could not see the product, as they could with the 2oz and 4oz jars. Second, the tin looked small compared to the jars. Third, having a tin and glass jars made the Arete Tallow product line lack uniformity. I feared that these issues were making customers less likely to buy my product.
So, I went searching for a solution.
After searching online, a day or two later I settled on one site. The reason I chose this site was straightforward: the price. There was one drawback though: the price.
Let me explain.
The reason this site was offering a better price per jar was because they only sold in bulk. The minimum order? 180 jars. Though I was not prepared to spend around $300 on jars, the price per jar and the knowledge that they would eventually be used up persuaded me to buy.
Because this purchase was bigger than ones I was used to making, I did not purchase right away.
When I saw that checkout page, I thought, “On second thought, I better do a little more research.” After looking around on a few more sites, and sitting after a day I decided to make the purchase.
After making the purchase, I had some initial jitters.
Thoughts of doubt snuck in because I bought the caps separately. Even though I had ordered the right size cap, I was still nervous. “What if they aren’t what I want?” “What if I just spent hundreds of dollars on something I cannot use?” “What if the caps do not fit?”
When the jars and caps arrived, all worries vanished.
The caps fit perfectly. The 1oz moisturizers now look uniform with the rest of the product line and are no longer dwarfed the other moisturizers. I will definitely be ordering from this company again.
